Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
